What is Storehouse?
Storehouse is a CVM compassion project set up to help those in need in our local communities. We offer quality used furniture, small household electricals and kitchenware at no cost. These items come from generous donations from individuals, churches and other sources. They are then passed on via our referrals system through social services, local churches and charity partners. We are based in the Rossendale Valley and serve the following postcodes: BB4, BL0, BL8, BL9, M8, M9, M11, M18, M25, M26, M40, M45 and OL13.
How do I refer someone?
Step 1
As a member of a local social service, support agency, church or charity partner please email storehouse@cvmchurch.co.uk or text 07534 670448. We will then send you a link to our referral form to fill in and send back with details of your client's needs.
Please also note our referral guidelines. Any referrals that do not fall within these postcodes or guidelines will be deleted.
- As the referrer you must be in a position to assess that there is a genuine need for the items (i.e. having visited their property)
- We will only accept one referral per household (no repeat referrals)
- A maximum of 5 furniture items can be requested per household and a maximum of 10 items in total *** please note we do not provide white goods
- We can only provide items that the household does not already have unless it is to replace a broken item
- We will provide a maximum of one sofa + one armchair per household
- Double beds will only be provided for adults
Step 2
Once we've received your completed referral form we will confirm which items we are able to provide.
Step 3
We will contact the client to arrange delivery of the items. Please note delivery will usually take place on a Friday.
HOW DO I DONATE ITEMS?
Please email storehouse@cvmchurch.co.uk or text 07534 670448 with a description of the items and their location for collection. We will then be in contact to discuss suitability and collection. Please note all items must be in good, lightly used condition and where appropriate have fire labels. Fabric items without fire labels or with rips, holes or stains cannot be accepted. We also don’t accept white goods (eg, fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and cookers).
WANT TO BE INVOLVED?
We are looking for volunteers to help on a weekly or monthly basis. Volunteers will mainly be involved in helping to collect and deliver items of furniture which can be heavy and awkward so you need to be fit and able! This will mainly take place on a Friday.
If you're interested in volunteering please get in contact to discuss this. Please email storehouse@cvmchurch.co.uk or text 07534 670448
